Mead Johnson Nutrition is teaming up with the Vietnam Ministry of Health to enhance food safety and quality standards throughout that country.

Vietnam recently enacted its new Food Safety Law, designed to bolster food safety through the development of a series of National Food Technical Standards and increasing public awareness about the importance of food safety, proper food preparation techniques, and superior hygiene practices.

Despite recent approval of the Food Safety Law, confusion exists among the business community and provincial authorities on how to implement the new technical food standards. Over the next two years, Mead Johnson will work with the Vietnam Food Administration to eradicate that ambiguity and help to implement the new Food Safety Law at the provincial level in Vietnam.

At a special ceremony to seal the agreement between Mead Johnson and the Vietnam Ministry of Health earlier this month, Tran Quang Trung, Director, Vietnam Food Safety, said, “The partnership between the Vietnam Food Administration and Mead Johnson Nutrition will provide benefits directly for the Vietnamese people.

“It is a great example of how multinational companies can directly support Vietnamese society through their expertise in a very meaningful way.”
