Mead Johnson Nutrition Rushes Support to Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Last month, one of the most devastating tornadoes ever recorded touched down in Oklahoma, killing 24, injuring hundreds and causing harm and disruption to the lives of tens of thousands.

As the storm subsided, damage was assessed and clean-up operations began, the staggering scale of the losses became apparent, including the impact on families and institutions with responsibility for caring for children.

Within 48 hours of the storm, the MJN Foundation had donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts and Mead Johnson team members had already delivered the first shipment of product donations requested by various relief agencies. Unfortunately, a second round of tornadoes soon hit the same general area, with additional loss of life, injuries and damage to homes and infrastructure.

MJN sales representatives in Oklahoma are keeping in close touch with local authorities to ensure that the right additional products are supplied to families, hospitals and other care-giving institutions at the right time to ensure that the needs of local infants and children are met during this time of crisis.

Individual U.S. MJN team members are also displaying their generosity with personal charitable contributions to the relief efforts, which they can have matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis by the company.

The devastation created by these storms is immeasurable. Mead Johnson is committed to working with the relief agencies and authorities in Oklahoma to help the families in need, especially children, rebuild and regain strength.
