Evansville Supply Center Marks Safety Milestone

Posted on Nov. 23rd, 2010 at 4:00pm

In November, Mead Johnson’s supply Center in Evansville, Ind., reached a major safety milestone: Five years without a “Lost Time Accident,” also known as a “Days Away from Work” case (DAFW).

The achievement was recognized during an event at which the Supply Center also received a “Star” award from the Indiana Department of Labor’s Voluntary Protection Program.

A 2009 report from the U.S. Department of Labor indicated there were 1.2 million DAFW cases in the United States, or 1.2 cases per 100 full time workers. Five years without a DAFW is rare and exceptional performance, especially in a manufacturing environment.
