Yuletide season is upon us at Mead Johnson U.S. This year, our caring employees again came together to fulfill holiday wishes – from pajamas and shoes to race cars and dolls – for needy infants and young children in our communities. As we gear up for the holidays, we wanted to share a few stories highlighting how our Mead Johnson family is helping others.

Mead Johnson employees in Glenview handmade just over 100 keepsake blankets for preemies born at three area hospitals – Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
When preemies emerge into the world, their parents often find themselves caught in a whirl of doctors, strange-looking life-saving machines and helplessness. It may be days – or in some cases months – before parents can cuddle their little bundles of joy for the first time.

Each year, Mead Johnson and nonprofit Hand to Hold partner to give the NICU Heroes Award, celebrating Neonatal Intensive Care Unit professionals. Parents of infants and children who have spent time in the NICU nominate health care professionals who impacted their lives. We are sharing these inspirational stories on November 17, in recognition of World Prematurity Day.

United Way and Mead Johnson volunteers clean and paint furniture to improve the Republica del Peru school kitchen.
At the Republica del Perú school and daycare in Lima, children choose activities based on their mood and interests. They can jump and run on the playground, build structures with blocks, or interact with other children to express their creativity.

On one side of the room, children dig furiously on an artificial beach, sifting through sand to find buried treasure.
On the other side of the room, another group of children put their swiftness to the test by racing a virtual T-Rex dinosaur.
And in the center of it all, children donning grass skirts and flower leis showed off their newly learned dance moves for the crowd.
Besides simply being fun, each one of these activities represents a key aspect of holistic brain development, which was the focus of the recent Enfa A+ Brain Expo hosted in Vietnam.

On a recent summer night in southern Indiana, hundreds of adults and children enjoyed fireworks, food and fun.
But this wasn’t your ordinary warm-weather picnic. These partygoers were all part of our extended family – the Mead Johnson family. They came together to celebrate something very special – the company’s 100th anniversary in Evansville.

September 15 is National Neonatal Nurses Day, when we recognize the outstanding efforts that these outstanding medical professionals provide to infants and families at, perhaps, the most vulnerable time of their lives. Kelli Kelley, founder and executive director of Hand to Hold, a nonprofit focused on support and education for families of babies who spend time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), shared her experiences with these outstanding healthcare experts.
