Late last month, Mead Johnson Nutrition Colombia celebrated the freedom and rights of children during the company’s first “Children’s Day” celebration at La Alegria de Compartir– or The Joy of Sharing – an orphanage in Cali.
During the day-long celebration, 11 Mead Johnson employees brought smiles to the faces of 85 children aged six and younger whose families are unable to regularly provide nutritious meals. Mead Johnson Colombia sponsored the event, which included meals, dancing, face painting and entertainment.
“Providing hope in the form of fun and celebration is as important as good nutrition for a child’s physical and emotional well-being,” said Juan Miguel Silva, Human Resources Manager, Mead Johnson Colombia. “Children’s Day is incredibly fun for the kids, as well as for our team members.”
This lighthearted celebration is just part of a larger relationship with and support for La Alegria de Compartir, under Mead Johnson Nutrition’s global charitable initiative – A Child’s Best Start – dedicated to providing the best start in life to infants and children without families to provide it for them.
