Mead Johnson Chonburi Supply Center Recognized by Thailand's Ministry of Industry for Our Commitment to Creating a Healthy Environment

Mead Johnson received the Green Level 2 Award for our environmentally responsible initiatives in Thailand.

At Mead Johnson, our mission is to nourish the world’s children for the best start in life. That means innovating the best possible products for pediatric nutrition, while also helping to maintain a healthy world in which they can grow and thrive.

Our commitment to environmentally responsible practices at our Chonburi manufacturing facility led Thailand’s Ministry of Industry to present MJN with our first Green Level 2 Award. This award was established in 2011 as part of Thailand’s Green Industry Project to recognize companies with environmental management strategies and social responsibility initiatives that improve production processes and manufacturing supply chains.

At our Chonburi supply center, MJN Thailand has executed a number of successful programs, including:

• GreenVision 2020. In 2010, we implemented our global strategy aimed at driving sustainable usage of energy and water, as well as reducing greenhouse gas and waste to landfill. Through GreenVision 2020, we have seen notable reductions to the impact we make on the environment at our Chonburi facility, as well as MJN offices and supply centers worldwide.

• ISO 50001 certification. The Chonburi supply center is MJN’s first facility to achieve this international certification that confirms the facility’s improved manufacturing performance through established processes for energy use, consumption and efficiency.

• Energy-saving activities. In 2014, we installed a LED lighting system to reduce our energy usage and replaced our old chiller systems with energy-efficient chillers. Through a newly installed solar collector, we now transform solar radiation into heat to make hot water for our manufacturing process, eliminating our reliance on conventional heaters.

• Green Energy Committee. This cross-functional team develops and drives energy-saving projects and awareness at all levels within our supply chain.
