Mead Johnson received positive recognition in three categories – Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Professional.

The tremendous toll in damages, injury and loss of life resulting from Hurricane Sandy continues to unfold. This enormous storm cut a swath of destruction along the Atlantic Seaboard and in 15 states, affecting literally millions of people.

The following post is a Q&A session with Elisha London, Global Regulatory and Nutrition Scientist. Elisha’s work at Mead Johnson includes the area of inborn errors of metabolism where she provides global nutrition support for metabolic formulas. Metabolic diseases affect nearly 5,000 babies in the U.S. every year. Newborn screening can greatly impact the lives of babies by detecting these life threatening illnesses at birth. Early detection of these diseases saves the lives of thousands of babies every year.

When we package our infant formula products in reusable plastic tubs, a small percentage of the containers that do not meet our stringent packaging requirements are removed from the production line. We collect these empty tubs and donate them to Evansville ARC Industries, a not-for-profit organization in Evansville, Indiana, that provides employment and vocational training to more than 200 individuals with disabilities.

For seven years, Mead Johnson has partnered with the Chaipattana Foundation on the “Helping Hand” program, an initiative to improve the standards of pre-school childcare centers across Thailand. The program aims to foster physical, mental, social and intellectual development of children during this important period of growth in the pre-school years.

As an active participant since the meeting’s inception in 1991, Mead Johnson had a number of scientists in attendance at the 10th Congress of the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL), held in Vancouver, Canada in May.
With over 600 members from more than 40 countries, the biennial meeting convenes health professionals with science, academic and government experts to review and exchange ideas on the latest developments in the study of fatty acids, lipids and their mediators.
