More than 100 employees, family and friends joined our Mead Johnson team to walk in the local March of Dimes’ March for Babies event in Evansville, Ind.
We are proud to report that Mead Johnson raised more than $75,000 for the cause.

The birth of a baby can be an exciting, overwhelming and life-changing time for many parents. Perhaps even more dramatic than the change experienced by a new parent is the rapid change in growth and development that is demonstrated by a newborn from birth through toddlerhood.
But changes in a baby’s growth and development are more than just exciting milestones. Growth and development are important measurements that may serve as early indicators of possible nutrition or health concerns.

There are nearly 30 million people living with rare diseases in the United States, another 30 million in Europe and millions more in all parts of the world. More than 60 percent of those affected are infants or children. Due to the large number of rare diseases (more than 5,000) and low prevalence of each disease, resources that lead to cures can be difficult to find.

We are excited to welcome another top business leader to our Board of Directors, with the addition of Celeste A. Clark, Ph.D.
Dr. Clark currently serves as senior vice president – global public policy & external relations and chief sustainability officer for the Kellogg Company, providing leadership for Kellogg’s worldwide nutrition, regulatory, communications and corporate social responsibility functions. No stranger to our company, she previously served as a member of the MJN Scientific Advisory Board.

Two grand opening ceremonies were held in Mexico City the week of Jan. 18, one for a new office location for the Mead Johnson Mexico national and Latin America regional teams and the other for the Pediatric Nutrition Institute – Latin America.

In November, Mead Johnson’s supply Center in Evansville, Ind., reached a major safety milestone: Five years without a “Lost Time Accident,” also known as a “Days Away from Work” case (DAFW).
The achievement was recognized during an event at which the Supply Center also received a “Star” award from the Indiana Department of Labor’s Voluntary Protection Program.
