Building Community Relationships in Mexico

Posted on Nov. 14th, 2011 at 12:30pm

Mead Johnson Mexico recently kicked off its community volunteer program, “Feeding Dreams,” with Casa de las Mercedes (House of Mercedes), a safe home for young women and children. The organization provides room, board and clothing, as well as educational, medical, psychological and moral support to the residents.

More than 50 Mead Johnson volunteers spent the day interacting with the children and their mothers during one of the program’s special events, known as Family Day. As we continue our work with Casa de Las Mercedes, volunteer efforts will expand to include educational sessions on best practices for proper nutrition and pediatric care, as well as to provide funding for medical check-ups and counseling.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Casa de Las Mercedes and help them as they further their mission of providing young mothers and children with a safe environment and resources to establish a firm foundation for building brighter futures.
