More than 2,300 quality control checks are conducted across Mead Johnson's manufacturing operations. A representative number of samples from every batch produced is tested to ensure the product meets our stringent quality specifications. Many of the dairy ingredients used in Mead Johnson products in Europe are sourced in The Netherlands.
New Zealand
New Zealand is a major milk producing country. It is the source of dairy protein in Mead Johnson products sold in several countries, including China.

To honor successful practices in occupational safety in the workplace, the Thailand Ministry of Labor awarded Mead Johnson’s Chonburi Supply Center with the 2011 Outstanding Award for Safety, Occupational Health and Environment.
Makati, Philippines
For continued commitment to implementing effective programs and activities on occupational health and safety, the Department of Labor and Employment honored Mead Johnson with a Safety Recognition Award, December 2011. The award signifies the achievement of a Safety Milestone for No Lost Time Accident in 2010.
Mexico City, Mexico
Mead Johnson Mexico was awarded the 2012 Socially Responsible Company Badge by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy. Evansville, Indiana
Mead Johnson's Evansville facility uses landfill gas as an alternative to natural gas, a method that reduces net carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions by 24,000 metric tons per year (based on metrics from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) and is equivalent to removing emissions from 4,400 passenger vehicles or the carbon absorbed by 5,500 acres of pine forests.
Zeeland, Michigan
The Enfamil reusable tub and refill system launched in 2010 in the U.S. uses less packaging material and requires less energy to produce.
Chonburi, Thailand
Mead Johnson’s campaign to improve environmental conditions in Chonburi Province includes the planting of 800 trees on Sameasarn Island with the goal of planting more than 1,300 trees by 2012. The company is also supporting efforts to expand the island’s Nature Garden Learning Center.
Philippines
In partnership with the Haribon Foundation’s Reforestation Organizations and Advocates (ROAD) to 2020 campaign, 70 Mead Johnson employees and business partners planted a total 1,400 trees in Laguna Province in July, 2011. The ROAD campaign aims to speed up the recovery of forests through the restoration of native tree species.
Delicias, Mexico
In 2011, Mead Johnson was honored for being a leading company in the Environmental Leadership Initiative for Competitiveness program. Lead by The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the initiative recognizes eco-efficiency practices at Mead Johnson’s manufacturing facility, including waste management and the reduction of contaminating emissions.
Indiana
Mead Johnson’s reusable plastic infant formula containers that cannot be used in production are donated to Evansville ARC Industries, a not-for profit organization providing employment to individuals with disabilities. ARC Industries grinds the containers and sells the ground plastic for use in new products. Recycling the plastic reduces the amount of waste sent to the local landfill and proceeds from the sale of the plastic support ARC's educational and vocational training programs.

Through formal partnerships and global commitments, such as the establishment of the Mead Johnson Foundation, the company is committed to making a difference worldwide.
China
In partnership with The Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China, Mead Johnson provides nutrition assistance to children with phenylketonuria (PKU) across the country. As a result of this ongoing effort, up to 500 impoverished newborns born with PKU will benefit over the next five years.
China
Through China's Red Cross Society, Mead Johnson contributed more than $100,000 in financial and product donations to relief efforts for victims of the 2010 earthquake in Qinghai Province.
Haiti
Mead Johnson employees in the Dominican Republic worked directly with the Dominican Red Cross to quickly move nearly $150,000 of infant formula products across the Haitian border to help victims of the 2010 earthquake.
Philippines
As a result of the company’s relationship with the University of the Philippines Institute of Human Genetics, Mead Johnson donated over 500 cases of specialized products for children living with rare metabolic disorders, such as Phenylteknoria (PKU) and Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD), in 2011.
Philippines
Mead Johnson’s Helping Hand program provided more than $100,000 in financial and product donations to support the 2010 flood recovery efforts for Ban Tum Nop School in Nakhon Sawan. More than 200 Mead Johnson employees volunteered their time to help restore playgrounds and provide educational support to those affected by the damage.
Vietnam
Since 2009, Mead Johnson has been working with Dieu Giac and Mai Tam Orphanage Centers to provide nutrition support. The company supplies nutritional products and helps establish biannual medical evaluations for children at the centers.
China
Mead Johnson and The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation jointly established the “Bloom of Hope Fund” in 2010 to help children diagnosed with phenylketonuria (PKU). With the initial investment of 1.1 million yuan ($162,000), more PKU families will get financial subsidy from the fund.
Mexico
Mead Johnson has been working with Un Kilo de Ayuda (One Kilogram of Help) to pursue the goal of ending child undernourishment in the country by 2023. In 2011, 54,675 bottles containing 15 ml (each) of Fer-in-Sol iron supplement drops were donated to help children with anemia.
Philippines
Mead Johnson provided more than $130,000 through the Feeding Hope program to help combat malnutrition in 2010, resulting in weight gain among 90 percent of children beneficiaries registered in the program. As part of this program, the company also supports Stories from the Heart, a writing activity where beneficiaries from the Feeding Hope program share inspiring accounts on how the program impacted their lives. In 2010, 22 beneficiaries were honored during an award ceremony in February.
Thailand

Canada
Mead Johnson’s “Raising Hope” program supports the Young Parents Outreach Centre at St. Mary’s Home in Ottawa with a focus on youth health through access to good nutrition. On average, 1,100 meals are served monthly to pregnant teens, children (aged 6 months to 4) and their young parents.
The Netherlands
At our European headquarters in Amsterdam, the company has provided support to Het Lindenhofje – a local center that provides transitional, crisis and palliative care and support for seriously ill children and their families, in keeping with the company’s philanthropic focus on helping children in especially fragile and vulnerable situations.
United States
In 2012, more than 175 employees, family and friends joined the Mead Johnson team to walk in the annual Evansville March of Dimes’ March for Babies event. As a result, over $105,000 was raised to support research and build programs that help premature babies during the critical first days and weeks of life.
China
2011 marked the sixth time Mead Johnson embarked on the “Trip of Love,” donating more than 1 million yuan ($156,000) of nutritious food to disadvantaged mothers in the rural area of China. In the six years of Mead Johnson’s participation with “Trip of Love”, we have assisted over 10,000 mothers and infants, donating more than 5 million yuan ($783,000 US) of infant formula, and offering professional training to over 1,000 medical workers in six provinces and ten regions across China.
Philippines
As part of an ongoing partnership with the Red Cross, Mead Johnson conducted its annual blood drive in August 2011, collecting a total of 156 bags to help provide a safer blood supply to areas affected by blood related emergencies.
Mexico
September 2011 marked the kick-off volunteer event with Casa de Las Mercedes, a safe home for young women and children. More than than 50 Mead Johnson volunteers spent the day interacting with the children and their mothers during one of the program’s special events, known as Family Day.
Phu Quoc, Vietnam
In December 2011, Mead Johnson volunteers visited a local school, in a remote and under developed territory of Phu Quoc, to encourage students to work hard and nourish their dreams. The children participated in creative activities, games and contests, and were given special gifts to support a healthy, fun learning environment.
Cavite, Philippines
Mead Johnson Philippines is working to provide support to Christian Growth Ministries (CGM), a child care and welfare organization. Mead Johnson volunteers visited the CGM Home of Joy orphanage to plant a vegetable garden, harvest crops, and improve the center’s food preparation facilities.
The Peak, Hong Kong
In February 2012, Mead Johnson Hong Kong organized an interactive nature walk for parents and children around the Peak (a landmark mountain) in Hong Kong, to promote healthy lifestyle and exercise practices. The volunteer activity is a result of our collaborative efforts with The Boys’ & Girls’ Club Association as part of our “Feeding Hope” program – focused on providing health and nutrition support and information to children from low-income families.
